Clear sea, clean air, rich flora and fauna, a mild Mediterranean climate are characteristics of the Cres - Losinj archipelago.

The mild Mediterranean climate is perfect for body's airways island is profiled as one of health - tourist destinat ions. Sometimes only one island, and today one of the most developed islands in the Adriatic Sea, it's made up of the islands of Losinj, Cres, Union, Ilovik, Vele and Male Srakane and Susak.

According to research, there are identified 1018 plant species on the island of Losinj, which are divided  by  Ambroz Haračić into two types: Istria's and Dalmatia's. On the island we can find lemons, oranges, figs, mandarin, olive trees, cacti, lavender, pine, cypress, bougainvillea and many other plants.

Things to do

  1. Visit Underwater Historical Park
    In the underwater archaeological park you have the opportunity to experience the feeling of diving in conditions reminiscent of the reconstruction of the actual underwater discoveries, and at the same time in a completely new and different way you can get to know the underwater world and cultural heritage of Mali Lošinj region.
    Setup of park makes a total of 11 different exhibits that testify to the rich history of the island and its region, set at a depth of 5 to 15m. Among cartridges are replicas of cannons from the XVI century, replicas of ancient amphoraes, anchors from 4th or 5th century, Venetian cannons, guns from World War II and the biggest attraction of the underwater park certainly is a replica of the ancient bronze statue of an athlete, "Apoxyomenos" from BC, a sort of symbol of the town.
  2. Visit Palace Fritzi - Lošinj Museum
    In the Palace Fritzi there are exposed the two most important collections of art collections of Mali Losinj - A collection of old masters in the Great Hall on the first floor and the Collection of Croatian Masters of Andro Vid Mihičić in the hall on the third floor. Both collections carry a powerful authoring seal of their creators, but the circumstances under which they were created are very different.
  3. The park forest Čikat
    Forest Park is a man-made ecosystem and is also the result of man's efforts to shape the landscape and cooperation with nature. As such it is of utmost importance for tourism, recreation, and to excite the interest of visitors to local nature and natural values of the island of Losinj. In the Park-forest there are several attractive marked hiking trails.
    Today's lush forest of Aleppo pine was planted on abandoned land in the 19th century efforts of the Society for Afforestation and Embellishment of Mali Lošinj under the guidance of the Lošinj naturalist and patriot Ambroz Haračić. On Cape Annunziata there is a church of the Virgin Mary built in 1858. It is a traditional votive shrine of Lošinj sailors.
  4. Fragrant Island Garden
    Insular Aromatic Garden - a nursery of the island medicinal herbs in Mali Losinj. With an expert guide, visitors can learn about the rich island flora, the medicinal properties of plants and buy an original island souvenir.
  5. Calvary
    Along the rise in the southern part of the city are graded chapels  in a free landscape, the 14 Stations of the calvary. This is the famous Mali Lošinj Calvary.
    Chapels were erected in the 18th century. They have been completed and dedicated in 1752 at the time of sudden Losinj prosperity.
    Calvary ends with the cross of Calvary and a small church.
